BUT GEA study sheets: 4 specialty paths (accounting, entrepreneurship, HR, management control), programme, internship, careers.
BUT GEA (Bachelor Universitaire de Technologie en Gestion des Entreprises et des Administrations) is a French three-year, 180-ECTS programme delivered by IUT (university institutes of technology). It replaced the former two-year DUT GEA in 2021 and now grants the bachelor's grade. The first two years cover a common core: financial accounting, cost accounting, financial analysis, strategic diagnosis (SWOT, PESTEL, Porter's five forces), professional English, microeconomics, business law, and digital tools (Excel, ERP, BI). Year three splits into four specialty paths: GC²F (accounting, tax and finance), GEMA (entrepreneurship and management), GPRH (human resources), GACE (management control). Apprenticeship is widely available from year two. Assessment runs through six core competencies validated by SAÉ project portfolios.
