No, EduFiche is not my idea.
It's my girlfriend's.
It was in July 2023, for our two-year anniversary. I had booked two nights in an Airbnb, with a Norwegian spa at 37°C, to relax and disconnect a bit.
Passionate developer, I've always worked on personal projects to progress, to experiment. But that day, I was out of ideas. One thing was certain: I wanted to create a project around AI.
So I turned to my girlfriend, a student, and I simply asked her:
"Do you have a problem that I could solve?"
And she told me:
"Making revision cards is long and boring."
Bingo.
I immediately pictured it: a few keywords, a study level… and bam, an AI-generated revision card.
The story begins
As soon as we got back, I got started.
For several weeks, I code during classes, in the evening, flat out.
In December 2023, an MVP is born: simple, functional, but effective.
I'm proud. I check the "useful personal project" box, and I move on to something else.
But months go by…
And then, surprise: without ads, without marketing, the site attracts hundreds of visitors aday.
I start tracking the number of created accounts.
I would tell my girlfriend, a little emotional each time:
"Look at your idea: 4000 accounts created… 6000… 8000… 12000!"
The turning point
That's when I tell myself: "It's too silly to leave it like this."
The idea is too good. Students love it.
And I can do more. Better. Much better.
So in December 2024, I start EduFiche V2, with a single goal in mind:
Create the best study sheets from students’ own course materials.
I code in the evenings, on weekends, sometimes in bed with my girlfriend next to me.
January 2025: I launch the new version.
The first subscriptions start coming in.
And with each notification, I instinctively show it to my girlfriend with a big smile.
I'm happy: EduFiche is finally serving a greater purpose.
But this is just the beginning.
Today
More than 50,000 students now use EduFiche to turn their courses into study sheets.
And I continue to believe in it.
I develop, I test, I gather feedback, I iterate.
I manage development, support, social media and ideas while staying close to student feedback.
What's next?
It's still to be written.
But one thing is certain: I won't give up.
Because every line of code serves the same ambition: make courses clearer, more visual and easier to learn.
