An AI tool can prepare questions on your lesson. It cannot learn for you, and using it is not automatically allowed in an assignment. To revise in high school in 2026, start by checking the rules set by your teacher, then keep a record of your sources and corrections.
What the official framework says
The French AI use framework in education allows independent uses in high school within a framework defined by the teacher. An assignment completed with AI without permission or personal appropriation may count as cheating. The rule therefore depends on the task, not just the tool.
Ask a concrete clarification: “Can I create revision questions with an AI from this chapter?” is more useful than “Can we use AI?”. Permission to prepare a quiz does not mean permission to write a graded assignment.
Distinguishing assistance from delegation
To decide, look at what you do after the generation. If you check the definitions, answer without the lesson and correct your mistakes, you are working. If you send the result directly as your answer, the machine has done the task for you.
Educational example: you are studying a concept in economics and social sciences. You can ask for a list of questions, then write the answers yourself using your teacher’s definitions. An AI-generated explanation is still a draft: a convincing example may be outside the syllabus or contain incomplete reasoning.
Our article on uses of AI for revising helps you choose the tasks that are worth this kind of support.
Preparing a document you can use
Before sending a file, remove classmates’ names, grades, contact details and unnecessary personal information. Also check that you are allowed to use the document in that context. A resource available in your school is not necessarily meant to be shared publicly.
The CNIL explains the risks of generative systems. A plausible answer can still be wrong. Keep the original lesson: it remains your reference for checking the summary.
If you cannot verify a passage, mark it as a question to ask the teacher. Do not turn it into certain knowledge.
A revision session with an observable result
Choose a short excerpt and a task: find the definitions in a chapter, then produce questions. Re-read the result with the lesson open. Remove unsupported additions, correct omissions and close the documents before answering.
In EduFiche, an AI revision sheet can serve as a first summary, then the questions let you practice recall. Check the content produced; a well-presented sheet is not school validation.
For your review, use this method to structure a useful study sheet. The success of the session is measured by what you can explain afterward without assistance.
Keeping a simple record
Note the document used, the task you asked for and the corrections you made. A few lines are enough. If your teacher asks how you prepared a piece of work, you can explain your use precisely.
Before your next session, write down what you want to be able to do on your own at the end. That sentence should guide the tool, the content produced and your final exercise.
